Wellroot Family Services says it received a $23 million state low-income housing tax credit for the first phase of Canopy of Hope, 65 affordable apartments on the 8.7-acre former Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church site at 3260 Covington Highway in Avondale Estates, near the Kensington MARTA station, according to Decaturish. Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

It is a transit-close affordable housing project in DeKalb that layers a state tax credit, a $2 million National Housing Trust Fund award and $12.75 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing through Truist and Capital Impact Partners, a model Atlanta developers, lenders and nonprofit leaders can study.
