Atlanta's First Bike Park, at Shirley C. Franklin Park on the Westside, Is Due to Finish Phase One by the End of 2026

Phase one of the bike park at Shirley C. Franklin Park, with an asphalt pump track, jump lines and a bicycle playground, is on schedule to be finished by the end of 2026, Atlanta Beltline Inc. told Urbanize Atlanta. The Chestnut Family Foundation, started by Mailchimp cofounder Ben Chestnut, is covering nearly all of phase one with an $8 million donation. A second phase with about 2.25 miles of woodland trails has raised $12.9 million of a $15 million goal.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A new riding destination in Grove Park adds a weekend option on the Westside and shows how private philanthropy is paying for Atlanta park amenities.
