Atlanta Will Unveil Design for 75-Acre Chattahoochee Brick Memorial Park on Oct. 3

The City of Atlanta's Department of City Planning will unveil the preferred design concept for a memorial park at the former Chattahoochee Brick Company site on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Urbanize Atlanta reports, with Mayor Andre Dickens set to speak. The 75-acre riverfront site relied on convict lease labor from the late 1870s to the early 1900s; early materials show trails, boardwalks, river access and a memorial.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A 75-acre memorial park and greenspace on the Chattahoochee would reshape the northwest Atlanta river corridor, link to the Proctor Creek Greenway, and put a hard chapter of Atlanta's Black history at the center of a major public project.
