Atlanta Parking Rights: Private-Lot Boot Fees Are Capped at $75 a Day for Passenger Vehicles

Georgia Department of Public Safety rules in effect since Jan. 1, 2026 cap private-lot boot fees at $75 a day for passenger vehicles as an all-inclusive rate, require lots to accept cash with no card surcharge, and bar booting or towing from paid private lots between midnight and 9 a.m., Atlanta News First reported Oct. 23. Ahead of a big downtown sports weekend with Atlanta United, the Dream, the Hawks home opener and the Falcons, the station recommended buying parking through the venue's official site.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Tens of thousands of people head downtown on big game weekends; knowing the fee cap and booting rules can save a surprise charge.
