MARTA Starts Building Its First Rapid Transit Bus Lines on Cleveland Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway Oct. 26

MARTA will begin building its first arterial rapid transit (ART) corridors on Cleveland Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway on Monday, Oct. 26, Rough Draft Atlanta reports, and MARTA's project page confirms the date. The buses run in mixed traffic but with fewer stops, enhanced shelters and transit signal priority. Work will be phased in Atlanta and East Point.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Cleveland Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway are two of MARTA's highest-traveled bus corridors. Riders, commuters and businesses along Routes 78 and 95 should expect sidewalk closures, temporary stop moves and short traffic impacts during construction, then faster trips.
