GDOT Sets I-285 Westside Weekend Closures Nearly Every Weekend Through December
GDOT has scheduled weekend closures on I-285's westside nearly every weekend for the rest of 2026 as part of the I-285 Westside Rebuild, according to Atlanta News First. Closures run Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m., except Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends; this weekend's closure is between Cascade Road (Exit 7) and SR 166/Langford Parkway (Exit 5), which closes again Oct. 2-5, followed by South Atlanta Road (Exit 16) to South Cobb Drive (Exit 15) on Oct. 9-12 and Oct. 16-19.

Westside commuters, airport runs and weekend plans across southwest Atlanta and Cobb will need detours most weekends through December; the project runs into 2028.
