UCB Dedicates the Site of Its Planned $2 Billion Biologics Campus at Gwinnett's Rowen

Belgian biologics maker UCB formally dedicated the future site of its planned campus at Rowen, the 2,000-acre Gwinnett County project off Ga. Highway 316, at a ceremony on Friday, according to Urbanize Atlanta's report. The roughly $2 billion, 460,000-square-foot campus on 79 acres is expected to bring about 1,000 construction jobs and 330 permanent jobs, with design and construction expected to take six to seven years.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Rowen is planned as a major research and manufacturing district between Atlanta and Athens, and UCB's campus, its first U.S. biologics manufacturing hub, is the anchor. Contractors, suppliers, recruiters and commercial real estate pros should watch the 316 corridor; Gwinnett has committed about $174 million in incentives and infrastructure to the project, according to Urbanize.
