Hartsfield-Jackson Adds AI-Powered Bins That Show Travelers What to Recycle
Hartsfield-Jackson unveiled its first 10 Oscar bins in July, placing them in high-traffic areas across some of the airport's nine concourses, according to Global Atlanta, in a story republished by Hypepotamus. Built by Vancouver-based Intuitive AI, the bins use cameras and screens to recognize items and guide travelers to the right slot. About 2.5 million people have used the bins so far and about 250,000 have interacted with the Oscars; the company says recycling improves by about 61 percent on average after a deployment.
