VDL Groep to Invest About $77 Million and Add About 120 Jobs in Oakwood, Hall County

Dutch manufacturer VDL Groep will buy and expand the building it leases at 5459 Aloha Way in Oakwood, investing about $77 million over several years and creating about 120 jobs, the Office of Gov. Brian Kemp announced Oct. 13. The Hall County site, VDL Industries Gainesville, makes semiconductor equipment and already employs about 70 people. Hiring is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, and construction is expected to finish in 2028.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

About 120 manufacturing, engineering, administrative and management roles are coming within an hour of Atlanta, tied to the semiconductor equipment supply chain, a growing lane for Georgia's skilled workforce and suppliers.
