The High Museum Marks 100 Years With New American and African Art Galleries and More Than 200 Acquisitions

The High Museum of Art is marking its centennial this fall with new American and African art galleries and more than 200 new acquisitions, according to Rough Draft Atlanta. The museum traces its start to October 1926, when Harriett 'Hattie' High donated her Peachtree Street home. Centennial events include a Block Party on Oct. 18 from noon to 5 p.m.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

The High is a regular stop for client outings and date nights; the centennial gives members and first-timers new galleries to see, and the museum keeps free days on the second Sunday and third Wednesday of each month.
