Starfish Seafood Trio Cold Smoked Fish Sold in Georgia Is Recalled Over Possible Listeria

Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. of Brooklyn is recalling Starfish Seafood Trio, an 8 oz package of cold smoked salmon, halibut and trout, because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to a company announcement posted by the FDA on Oct. 9. The product was distributed in Georgia and five other states.

Look for lot number D139149161-153 with an expiration date of 12/01/2027. The notice says no illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers are urged not to eat it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions: (718) 858-6720.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Georgia is one of six states where the product was distributed, and smoked fish keeps for a long time: this lot carries a 12/01/2027 expiration date, so a package could sit in a fridge or freezer for months. Check the lot number before your next brunch board.
