About 42,860 DR Power Trimmer Mowers Are Recalled Over Fire and Burn Hazards

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Oct. 8 a recall of about 42,860 DR Power Equipment Pilot and Premier Trimmer Mowers (recall 27-016). According to CPSC, grass and debris can accumulate in the trimmer mowers and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards; the firm has received 19 reports of mowers catching fire, including two reports of minor injuries. Consumers should stop using them immediately and contact DR Power Equipment for a free repair kit.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

These sold nationwide at Ace, TSC, Bomgaars and other hardware stores and on DR Power's website from November 2022 through July 2026 for $380 to $550, so Georgia homeowners and landscaping businesses may have one in the shed.
