SBA's Georgia District Is Taking 2027 Small Business Award Nominations Through Dec. 7

The U.S. Small Business Administration's Georgia District Office is accepting nominations for three district awards: Women Owned Small Business of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year (under 30 as of June 1, 2027) and Family-Owned Small Business of the Year (at least 15 years in operation and passed down at least one generation), according to the SBA's Georgia awards page.

Nomination packages must be submitted by 3 p.m. ET on Dec. 7, 2026, and owners can nominate themselves. The SBA says nominees must own 51 percent of a business that has operated at least three years and have received at least one type of SBA assistance, such as a loan or counseling. The forms are on the SBA's Georgia District Office awards page.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

It is free recognition from a federal agency that Georgia owners can put on a website, a pitch deck or a bid, and self-nominations are allowed.
