Production Designer Bruton Jones Explains the Hidden Details in Netflix's New Hillman College Sets

Bruton Jones, the production designer who rebuilt the Hillman College sets for Netflix's 'A Different World,' told Rolling Out in a piece published Oct. 16 that he hid "visual notes" for fans who freeze the frame. They include a dorm wall of past Gilbert alumni that features Whitley, and images from the real dorm used as set decor. CBS News Atlanta has reported the series was shot on HBCU campuses in the Atlanta University Center.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

The new Hillman was built here, on AUC campuses, and the people behind it are part of Atlanta's film and creative workforce; Jones' credits also include 'The New Edition Story' and 'Greenleaf.'
