MARTA and Soccer in the Streets Add a Seventh StationSoccer Pitch at H.E. Holmes Station

MARTA and Atlanta nonprofit Soccer in the Streets scheduled a Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 20, ribbon-cutting for two mini pitches on part of a former parking lot at H.E. Holmes, MARTA's westernmost train station, according to Urbanize Atlanta. It is the seventh StationSoccer site, 10 years after the first transit-connected field opened at Five Points in 2016, joining East Lake, East Point, Five Points, Kensington, Lindbergh and West End. Doraville, Bankhead and Civic Center stations are planned next.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A transit-linked amenity at one of MARTA's busiest stations (22,000 daily bus and rail riders), inside a 22-acre Westside redevelopment with housing and retail; adult league revenue funds free youth programs.
