Issa Rae Joins Unrivaled as an Investor as the League's Valuation Reaches a Reported $650 Million

According to REVOLT, Unrivaled announced on Monday, Oct. 5 that Issa Rae is one of its newest investors, with the women's basketball league's valuation pushed to $650 million. It is her second women's sports move in weeks: she is part of the ownership group of the Los Angeles Orbit, the League One Volleyball team that revealed its name on Sept. 25. The amount she invested was not disclosed.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Women's sports ownership is becoming a serious asset class for Black entertainers and executives, and Rae is building a portfolio across leagues instead of making a single bet.
