Georgia Tech and Emory Say They Have Committed More Than $1 Billion to Artificial Intelligence

Georgia Tech and Emory University said Oct. 8 that they have together committed more than $1 billion to artificial intelligence: approximately $600 million from Emory and more than $575 million from Georgia Tech, according to the Georgia Tech News Center. Nearly half of Emory's total has gone toward recruiting and retaining talent in Atlanta, and Georgia Tech's new AI supercomputer, Nexus, is scheduled to launch in October.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

The money points to where AI talent, research spinoffs and employers are likely to cluster in Atlanta, which matters to anyone hiring for or building a career around AI skills.
