Downtown Atlanta Inc. Extends Its $200,000 Sweet Auburn Pedestrian Safety Plan RFP to Oct. 30

Downtown Atlanta Inc., in partnership with Sweet Auburn Works, is seeking qualified transportation planning and engineering firms for the Sweet Auburn Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, according to its RFP page.

The project budget is $200,000, funded through the Atlanta Regional Commission's Livable Centers Initiative with local matching funds from Sweet Auburn Works. The proposal deadline was extended two weeks, to 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 30, 2026. The consultant will assess existing conditions, engage residents and develop recommendations, concept designs and an implementation strategy. The full RFP is on Downtown Atlanta Inc.'s RFP page.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A funded planning contract in one of Atlanta's most historic business districts is open to firms for almost three more weeks, and the extension gives smaller planning and engineering shops time to put a team together.
