Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed Tops The Tonight Show in Viewers and the 18-49 Demo

"Comics Unleashed," Byron Allen's CBS show, outdrew NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in both total viewers and adults 18-49 on Tuesday, Oct. 6, according to LateNighter figures reported by theGrio. It is the first time since the show took over Stephen Colbert's former 11:35 p.m. slot. The first episode drew 1.073 million viewers against a 1.018 million average for Fallon's hour; ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" led all three. Per the same figures, Fallon won the 11:35-to-midnight half-hour in total viewers with 1.175 million.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

Allen owns the show and the company behind it, so a ratings win in a slot long held by a network host is a business milestone for a Black media owner, not only a TV note.
