Audi Picks Georgia's Middle Georgia Megasite for Its First U.S. Plant, About $4 Billion and 4,500 Jobs

Audi AG will build its first U.S. manufacturing facility, a plant for premium SUVs designed for North American customers, at the Middle Georgia Megasite in Peach County, according to an Oct. 24 announcement from Gov. Brian Kemp's office. The project is about $4 billion and about 4,500 new jobs, with grading in 2027, construction in 2028 and full production in 2031 at about 200,000 vehicles a year.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A 4,500-job automaker plant is one of the largest economic development wins in the state; Atlanta suppliers, staffing firms, logistics companies and professional services all sit in its orbit, and state training programs start before the plant opens.
