Tamara Tunie won Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series on Oct. 30 at the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards for playing Anita Williams Dupree on CBS's 'Beyond the Gates,' TheGrio reports. It is her first Emmy after nearly 40 years in television, and she dedicated it to her 92-year-old mother. The show, which CBS says is filmed in Atlanta, won four Daytime Emmys in its first year of eligibility, per TheGrio.
