The Atlanta Dream lost Game 1 of the WNBA Finals 68-64 to the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday, Oct. 17, in San Francisco, The Associated Press (via WBRZ) reported. Allisha Gray scored 19 in her return from a left ring finger injury, and Angel Reese had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Gabby Williams led Golden State with 26. Game 2 was set for Monday night, Oct. 19, at Chase Center.
Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals
Atlanta's first Finals run since 2013 needed a split in San Francisco before Games 3 and 4 came home, which shaped watch-party, hospitality and ticket demand across the city.
