Oakland Cemetery's Free Dia de Muertos Celebration Was Set for Sunday, Nov. 1

Oakland Cemetery was set to hold what it calls Atlanta's largest Dia de Muertos celebration, now in its fourth year, on Sunday, Nov. 1, from noon to 5 p.m., Rough Draft Atlanta reported. Admission was free. The Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta, the Institute of Mexican Culture and the Historic Oakland Foundation presented the day, with traditional dancing, music, Mexican food vendors, mausoleums decorated as ofrendas and a Catrin and Catrina costume contest with cash prizes.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

A free, big-crowd cultural outing in the middle of the city on a Sunday. Street parking is limited, so MARTA or rideshare is the way to go.
