Lauren Koontz Named President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has named Lauren Koontz president and CEO effective Dec. 1, Rough Draft Atlanta reported Oct. 6. Koontz has led the YMCA of Metro Atlanta since 2019, when she became its first woman president and CEO. Ryan Wilson, CEO and co-founder of The Gathering Spot and a foundation board member, chaired the search committee.

Why It Matters for Atlanta Professionals

The Community Foundation is one of the region's main philanthropic funders, so its new leader will shape where grant dollars go, and the move opens the top job at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta.
